a few of my favourite things

Hello Lovelies!

So, I am a very sentimental kind of person and I though I’d share with you some of the things that make me happy and calm. T o be honest you may find them weird because as I said I am very sentimental so these items have great value to me, even if they are just some junk to others. When I’m packing I rarely put a great deal of practical things in my suitcase, which I regret later, but fill it to the brim with little things which make me happy.

These are a few of my favourite thing (the ones I’d stuff my suitcase with instead of practical, useful things):

  1. My diaries– As in all 3 of them. I know I’ve totally finished 2 of them but they just bring my comfort, I guess it’s proving to myself that I’ve gotten through these couple of years of my life without giving up or whatever and here is the proof.
  2. Girl Online By Zoe Sugg– The first Girl Online is my comfort read, it gives me hope and really, truly inspires me. I had to force myself to not bring all 3 books on my last holiday!!
  3. My guitar– Ok, so maybe I wouldn’t pack this one but my guitar is a way to relax myself and just give me some time to breathe. I want to admit that I can’t really play guitar so that makes it sound even weirder but I just love strumming it and playing a couple of simple cords to make up a small rhythm.
  4. My camera– I cannot leave to go on holiday, or anywhere really without my camera! Just thinking of forgetting it on holiday makes me shudder! Who knows what great photo opportunities you’ll miss out on!
  5. A book- I cannot go anywhere without a good book… you never know when you might want to escape the real world and climb into a totally different one.
  6. My comfy blanket- So,  I have this blanket and it’s basically a comfort blanket. I’ve had it like all my life and it just makes me feel so warm and safe and just generally happier.

So, those are a few of my favourite things (the lyric from the Sound of Music was intentional, go watch that film if you haven’t already!)

I hope you enjoyed this post and please comment your favourite things below!

books

Hello Lovelies!

So, today I thought I’d have a little chat to you about books and reading and why I love it so much.

Let’s go!

I firstly love how books can take you anywhere. Down a rabbit hole, up a tree, on mars, a world full of chocolate or just a normal house in a normal street, in a normal town… or is it normal 😉 If I’m having a bad day I tend to turn to a book set in a totally different setting to where I am. I can simply pick up a book and suddenly I’m falling down a massive rabbit hole with, what seems like, no end. It’s amazing how the power and choice of certain worlds can make your imagination sore and teleport you into an unknown land full of magic, mystery, adventure, cake, anything you want it to be.

The second reason I love books it how you can hop out of your crappy life and into someone else’s who’s is full of adventure and excitement. Even if theirs has its down you know by the end of the story it will all end up just fine and if it doesn’t… well just dive into another book and retrace your steps as a totally different person. The only problem is when you become so attached to a book that you start to worry about whether  you look presentable enough to meet the Queen of Hearts and you have to constantly shake yourself into reality and tell yourself that no. you are not about to play croquet with flamingos but you are about to fail your Spanish test if you don’t put your book down. Does anyone else have this problem when you have something you need to remember or worry about but when you come to find out what it is you are needing to remember it’s something which you don’t actually need to worry about because no, you are not Alice in Wonderland but you still cannot stop worrying about it?

I find books so inspiring, every time I read a book I’m always like, wow, *insert authors name here* is such an amazing author I want to write like her/him. I then spend the next week or so writing like half a book before giving up and deciding to stick to reading the books and let the authors do all the hard work! To be honest I do love writing… why would I have made a blog and stuff if I didn’t?!

Novels are also so addicting, like it’s amazing when you find a book and you just cannot put it down, it can be annoying, but even so it’s a great feeling. Until the dreaded day when Alice has found it back home from wonderland so the book has to finish. You can tell when you love a book when you just want to know what the rest of the characters life is like even if no, there can’t be a squeal because it just wouldn’t work but you just really want to know what the characters everyday life is like even when they aren’t having lunch, dinner or breakfast (I’m still waiting to know why meal the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party actually was!) with the Mad Hatter and the March Hair.

Ok, I’m going to stop now because I could write about books forever. I love them so much!!

Byyeee,

night writings #1: We’re robots?!

Hi lovelies!

I’m kind of dying of confusion right now because I have delved into how we actually exist. Yes, as in how we all as humans are able to move, talk, see, hear, feel, think or even breathe.

This is why I never really get sleep at night 🙂

so, I was thinking aren’t humans literally just bones and other random stuff combined to create something that is capable of such powerful things. I mean to be honest we’re basically robots; moving things made of things. But the difference is we actually experience emotions and feelings from this weird mush called ‘The Brain’ like how dots this strange goo like substance sitting inside a weird material called a ‘Bone’ cause you to feel such strong, complicated things?! I don’t get how this mushy material connect to something connected to something else etc. To make you move. How do you move anyway? We’re just made of different, rather strange materials so how does that cause movement or anything?! How does a mushy thing in your head make you move and, well, just be alive. How come each mushy thing in ur head has a slightly different “personality” making us unique and us. how does 2 circular objects attached to something else cause you out to experience the sight of beautiful and sometimes, well, not so beautiful things? How come 2 holes in the side of your head cause you to actually experience sound and great music but also terrible sounds (like nails against a chalk board).

Just HOWWWWWWWWW????!!!!!!

Im quite exhausted after writing that! I wrote it soooo quickly like literally so so so many questions kept leaping into my head saying “include me too!” So therefore i had to include them otherwise they would be bugging me for the rest of my life!! (Oh yeah one last thing, how come our body dies, like suddenly all the materials in our bodies become stationary objects again that don’t have the ability to do all the many things it used to do).

i do tend to ramble a lot!!

im actually so tired after writing this and I’m so sorry, my readers, if, like me, I have made you delve into the deep dark depths of the meanings of life but before I start to question our existence any more I’m going to go before I fall asleep and most probably dream about what I’ve just written,

byeeeeee,

Just a little update

Hey Lovelies!

I just though I’d update you a bit on what’s going on in my blog because I have changed it a lot.

First of all the all important, changing my username!!

So, I decided in the end to go with “Autumn Colours” as suggested by Small Island Thinker so all credit to you, thanks 🙂 I loved how it kind of represented change almost because autumn is a season that basically changes from a colourful summer to a darker, colder winter. And that’s what my blog is about; changes but unlike autumn I’m hoping that I will change from winter to summer, from darker and unhappy to joyful and positive. Don’t get me wrong, I love winter I just thought that would be a good metaphor!! Autumn is also my anonymous blog name, and I do LOVE all the colours that autumn brings:

I’ve also changed  the colour theme of my blog and the header image because it looks more spring-y, so I’m planning to change those 2 aspects of my layout each season to make it more seasonal.

The final thing I’m doing is writing a letter to every season just before, or as, it starts. I just think it would be nice to look back at the letters and see if I achieved whatever I put into them. Yeah, I kind of like seasons! I love how they give you another opportunity to start again and achieve things you want to achieve. I also love how every season is totally different so you can get excited to see what every season has in store 🙂 Go check out my letter to spring!

That’ it, sorry (not sorry) I rambled on a bit!

dear spring…

Dear Spring,

Now your presence is finally here please could you bring a new brightness to my life. After a long, cold winter, I’d love to turn over a new leaf and try to allow my dreams to blossom into reality. Now that the harsh, dark winter has come to a close please could you bring a new colour to my life. I love all your beautiful colours, your beauty symbolizes a new beginning which is something I love about you. I love to have another opportunity to start again, make things right. Thank you for that.

Lots of love,
